🧑 About Us

Comend is building the OS for patient groups.

We believe that by equipping people with the best tools to solve their own problems, we can tackle the whole world’s problems better, together. We help patient families find resources and advocacy groups push science forward. Some milestones we hit over the past year of existing:

  1. We’ve raised $600K USD to date
  2. We launched our first product Librarey last October
  3. We’ve gotten close to the community at dozens of rare disease conferences all around NA
  4. We’re currently piloting Scimantic with patient groups

A lot of companies say this but at Comend you really will be working in a dynamic environment where you will be working on something different each day. You’ll be building in service of a demographic who will feel the impact of your work. You will meet users who have literally teared up when hearing what we want to build for them, and it’s our job to make it happen 💫.

🚀 Our Mission

Comend is on a mission to help rare disease patients bring their community to a treatment by empowering them with tech. We want to give a fighting chance to the most overlooked and underserved demographic in healthcare. Our goal is to help patients do what they do better, and foster the largest patient community in the world.

✅ Our Values

📐 Design with and for the people – Everything we do is informed by our users and the rare disease community. Be an active and empathetic listener who welcome all feedback with open arms.

🛠️ Build things that last – Build with intention for the outcome to persist and outlast ourselves. Many people in rare do what they do for future generations as much as their own. We live by that example.

💎 Lead with transparency – Be the window by which users and team members can always see the purpose and integrity of your work. We operate with clear incentives that prioritize the needs of patient families.

🌱 Impact can come from anywhere – We strive to empower anyone with the passion to work on their problems regardless of former education, lived experience, or otherwise. Do the work and success will find you.
