Data Science Engineer – Internship (F / H)

Internship (5 to 6 months)     Paris      Bac +5 / Master

About

With a recent fundraiser with several leaders in new technologies such as David Helgason (founder of Unity Technologies) and Sune Alstrup (founder of The Eye Tribe, acquired by Facebook in 2016), NextMind is growing .

This specialized deeptech in control-based neurotechnologies offers a lightweight and non-invasive device for decoding neuronal activity. Using artificial intelligence algorithms, NextMind’s technologies translate brain signals into digital commands in real time. They facilitate interaction and control of digital interfaces such as computers or VR or AR headsets.

NextMind is a spin-off of a laboratory of the École Normale Supérieure and the CNRS founded in 2017 by the neuroscientist Sid Kouider.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a trainee engineer in data science, in the following areas of application:
• Real-time signal processing
• Brain-machine interfaces
• Automatic learning and AI
You will participate in the implementation of algorithms recent deep-neural network-based, reinforcement, or biologically inspired automatic learning (LSTM, attentional models, etc.) to decode the multi-channel electroencephalographic (EEG) signal. You will also be responsible for making these models work within the current EEG signal decoding chain, producing optimized code that can run in real time.

Required profile

Trained Bac +5 or higher in engineering school, you know how to demonstrate autonomy, organization and you have a good team spirit. You are passionate about new technologies.

• Master’s degree or degree in computer science or a related discipline
• Good mastery of Python
• Familiarity with the Python ecosystem for research and data science (Jupyter, matplotlib, etc.)
• Experience with current libraries implementing the main models and methods in Machine learning (Tensorflow, Scikit-Learn, etc.)

Bonus:

• Experience with a professional development framework: version management (Git), coding rules, unit tests (as part of a continuous integration)
• Knowledge of signal processing and real-time signals
