Lumosity is a brain training program with over 94 million users and 4.4 billion games played. In addition to improving Lumosity, we’re also creating new products that combine science, engineering and design to help people form better sleep habits, practice mindfulness, and more.
 
We’re looking for a talented leader to join our creative leadership team and manage our team of game artists. Because the games are a core part of our brand and product experiences, you’ll provide creative leadership within both the creative and games orgs to connect our games to our holistic brand and product vision.

You Will

  • Manage and strengthen the team of game artists by providing training, mentorship, and coaching
  • Uplevel the game development process by providing creative oversight that increases the production speed and quality of our games and allocating art resources depending on project needs
  • Connect the holistic relationship between game art, brand, and product design by applying our updated design language, brand identity, and guidelines to games
  • Brainstorm concepts and creative solutions with the team and then guide how those ideas come to life
  • Partner with the games leadership team to create and communicate policies, help develop strategy, and to tie individual efforts with team efforts
  • Facilitate collaborations with game designers, engineers, research scientists, QA, producers, PM’s, and marketers to meet functional requirements
  • Guide collaborations with creative directors, brand designers, and product designers to meet creative requirements
  • Work in an agile environment using data and analytics to inform user-centered design decisions and rapid iterative improvement.

 

You  Have

  • 10+ years leading art or design teams developing games or interactive experiences
  • A portfolio of inspired work that demonstrates an intelligent approach to solving visual and interactive problems
  • An equally strong art and design foundation, with the ability to guide teams in the application of illustration, interaction, movement, timing, and sound to create emotional resonance
  • Impeccable design quality standards, with an understanding that “design is not just what it looks like and feels like – design is how it works.”
  • The ability to identify functional and emotional user problems and articulate how your solutions are addressing those core problems and coach others to do the same
  • A strong understanding of how to empower, coach, and guide your team to draw out their best work
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills to work on a close knit cross-functional team
  • Working knowledge of Cocos Creator, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch.
