PostDoc – Biomedical Engineering or Related Field

 

The Biosensing and Biorobotics Laboratory at the University of Minnesota is seeking postdoctoral researchers to join our research team. Positions are funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and private foundations.

Successful candidates will be expected to perform high level experimental, theoretical, and numerical research on developing multi-scale neuro-imaging platforms. They will be working with a highly interdisciplinary team of neural engineers, neuroscientists, physicists, biologists, and material scientists within the University of Minnesota and partner universities. They are expected to author, co-author, and otherwise collaborate on reports, proposals, conference papers, and high-impact peer reviewed journals. They will be expected to participate in preparation and presentation of data to study investigators. They will support the faculty supervisor in mentoring graduate students and lab technician and other research team members. This will include advice on technical questions, data analysis, and discussions on development of research plans. They will also be responsible for organization and management of laboratories under faculty mentors’ supervision.

 

Required qualifications:

    • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Science, Mathematics, Physics)

 

Preferred qualifications and experience:

    • developing optical systems
    • Neuroimaging
    • Bio-instrumentation
    • micro/nano fabrication
    • in vivo electrophysiology/imaging
    • rodent cranial surgery
    • advanced biological imaging
