CTRL-labs is developing a wearable neural interface for the wrist/forearm that allows creators to build revolutionary new experiences and applications in VR/AR, gaming, robotics, health, productivity and more. We are seeking a web developer to help build front- and backend web experiences for our customers.
 
As a web developer, you’ll be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and hosting of our developer portal from the ground up. This includes e-commerce, ticketing, support, documentation, user login, software downloads, and a number of backend tools. This a 40-hour/week contract position, but we can accommodate some scheduling flexibility. Initial contract for three (3) months with the possibility of an extension. Preference given to NYC-based candidates.
 
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Lead the development of the ctrl-labs website
  • Work with internal technical & marketing teams to support key use cases
  • Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
  • Creating website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices
  • Integrating data from various back-end services and databases
  • Create an updatable framework for content management (e.g. documentation, software downloads)

 

Requirements

 

  • Proven working experience in web programming
  • Strong programming skills and knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, Javascript or Ruby on Rails
  • A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services such as Cognito, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
  • Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
  • Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process and website analytics tools
  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
  • Github experience
  • BS in computer science or a related field.
