NEW YORK, NY R&D – SOFTWARE CONTRACTOR
CTRL-labs is developing a wearable neural interface for the wrist/forearm that allows creators to build revolutionary new experiences and applications in VR/AR, gaming, robotics, health, productivity and more. We are seeking a web developer to help build front- and backend web experiences for our customers.
As a web developer, you’ll be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and hosting of our developer portal from the ground up. This includes e-commerce, ticketing, support, documentation, user login, software downloads, and a number of backend tools. This a 40-hour/week contract position, but we can accommodate some scheduling flexibility. Initial contract for three (3) months with the possibility of an extension. Preference given to NYC-based candidates.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the ctrl-labs website
- Work with internal technical & marketing teams to support key use cases
- Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Creating website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices
- Integrating data from various back-end services and databases
- Create an updatable framework for content management (e.g. documentation, software downloads)
Requirements
- Proven working experience in web programming
- Strong programming skills and knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
- Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, Javascript or Ruby on Rails
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Strong knowledge of AWS services such as Cognito, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process and website analytics tools
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
- Github experience
- BS in computer science or a related field.
