Neurobiology Research Associate or Scientist

Inscopix, a discovery phase neurotechnology company, is seeking a talented research associate (RA) or research scientist (RS) with a strong background in in-vivo electrophysiology and/or imaging in rodent models who is interested in pursuing groundbreaking brain science in a highly-motivating and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. You will have unique opportunities to work in close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of driven neuroscientists, physicists, engineers, and data scientists. The ideal candidate will have:

    • BS/MS (RA) or PhD (RS) in Neurobiology or a related field
    • At least two years of post-degree research experience in academia or industry
    • Experience working with rodent models, particularly rats, including animal handling and running of behavioral assays
    • Experience with chronic, in-vivo electrophysiology (e.g. EEG, ECoG, LFP, single- / multi-units), imaging and/or optogenetics
    • Excellent surgical skills, including stereotaxic injections and/or implantations
    • Creative problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Desire to work with amicable, energetic, interdisciplinary teams

Bonus skills:

    • Experience in translational and/or drug discovery research, including with disease models of neurodegeneration (e.g., Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s Disease) and the assessment of therapeutic compounds or interventions
    • Familiarity with nVista and/or nVoke technology
    • Experience with viral and transgenic technology
    • Proficiency with post-mortem immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy
    • MATLAB or Python programming and data analysis expertise
    • Experience developing lab standard operating procedures and protocols
    • Strong publication record
