Artinis is hiring a research scientist to work within a recently granted national project. Within the project team, you will design and conduct fNIRS studies on mental workload and mental fatigue, as well as analyze the collected data. The outcome of your analysis should provide a basis for a commercial fNIRS product (hardware and application). You will be embedded in a multidisciplinary team consisting of several researchers on senior, post-doc and PhD-student level, as well as engineers of various backgrounds (biomedical, embedded, electrical, software).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design of an experimental paradigm for measuring cognitive workload in a naturalistic of a realistic setting
- Measurement of fNIRS data of human participants
- Processing of fNIRS data using state-of-the-art analysis techniques
- Documentation and analysis in a scientific manner
- Participation in a multi-disciplinary project consortium consisting of academic and industrial partners
- Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists
- Pursuing a PhD-degree on basis of this position can be discussed
- The experiments will be executed in the BMS Lab in Enschede.
YOUR PROFILE

- You hold a Master degree with good grades and a background in (cognitive) neuroscience or biomedical engineering with solid knowledge of (applied) mathematics
- You are experienced in conducting scientific measurements on people and you enjoy data analysis
- You have a good command of the English language
- You have shown good analytical and problem-solving skills
- You are an independent worker and a team-worker
- You enjoy integrating in a nice team with a great atmosphere
- You thrive well in a company with a flat hierarchy system
- You deliver on time
- You know when to be determined and ambitious and when to be flexible and pragmatic
- Good knowledge of Matlab, R and/or Python is a plus
- The ability to analyze fNIRS data using machine learning techniques is a plus
