20 Jun PostDoc- Ultra-high Frame Rate Imaging of Neuronal Membrane Potential
We are inviting applications for a full-time Wellcome Trust ISSF funded Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. The successful applicant will contribute to the development of novel approaches for ultra-high frame rate imaging of neuronal activity using single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs). The post will focus on validation of SPADs for imaging of neuronal activity reported with genetically encoded voltage indicators. It is expected that the successful applicant will have experience in whole-cell patch-clamp methods for recording membrane potential of neurons in brain slices and preferably also expertise in stereotaxic viral injections. The successful applicant will have access to state-of-the-art imaging and electrophysiology tools and will be part of a collaboration between Gyongy, Nolan, Duguid and Mitra research groups in the Institute for Integrated Micro- and Nano-Systems and the Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences.
For informal inquiries please contact Matt Nolan: mattnolan@ed.ac.u or Istvan Gyongy: igyongy2@exseed.ed.ac.uk.
