The Department of Neuroscience & Experimental Therapeutics at Albany Medical College has two a tenure track positions to start July 1, 2020. Please submit your applications by October 1, 2019.

Our department has a long-standing history of excellence in neuroscience, pharmacology and non-pharmacological interventions. We value mentorship and offer a structured junior faculty development program. We are looking for the right candidate as opposed to a candidate in a particular field of neuroscience, though we will ensure we have the proper existing faculty to support new investigators. There is no teaching requirement. Either directly at AMC or close by in the surrounding area, we have access to most state of the art equipment required for a wide range of neuroscience. Five new faculty have joined our group in the last 3 years, and we are anticipating two additional hires in the next year. One of the positions is an Assistant Professor, applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent), at least three years of postdoctoral research experience in Neuroscience or a related discipline, and an excellent record of research productivity. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should demonstrate a strong potential for developing an independent research program. Applicants for the Vice Chair position are expected to have a doctorate degree (Ph.D. or equivalent,) and should be at the Associate or full Professor level. Applicants for the Vice Chair position should have a strong recording of funding and demonstrated leadership skills.

All applicants must apply electronically and submit the following information in one electronic file (preferably PDF): a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement (up to 4 pages) of research interests and teaching philosophy, and the names of at least three academic referees. Applicants must arrange for academic references to be sent to the Search Committee Chair.
