About the role:
We are looking for a mechanical engineer with a medical product development background to work on development of the Prosthetic Interface Device.
Main duties and responsibilities:
You would work within our multidisciplinary team, cross-functionally and alongside other mechanical engineers, to drive the development of implanted neural interfacing devices, supporting products and peripherals from R&D concept to readiness for safe and effective clinical use.
Tasks will include:

- Product development and testing
- Technical design review
- Structural and tolerance analysis
- Risk analysis in accordance with ISO14971
- Requirements definition
- Writing and compiling technical file documentation
- Clinical trials support
- Supplier liaison
- Contribution to internal & external technical presentations
REQUIREMENTS
- Essential skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar field
- Comprehensive engineering experience, preferably within a quality regulated field (aero / nuclear / medical)
- Fluent in Solidworks for designing electro-mechanical systems
- Analytical skills experience, including structural and tolerance analysis
- Experience of technical documentation (including GD&T and DFMEA) and design calculations to achieve high performance and reliability
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes to influence design choices and ease of manufacture
- Appreciation of the requirements of operating and developing medical products under ISO13485
- Ability to work autonomously with the drive to have a direct impact on the growth of a disruptive business
- Good written English and adept with Microsoft Office suite tools
- Ability to communicate clearly in cross-functional teams and complete tasks under tight deadlines
- Desired skills and qualifications:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, product development or similar field
- Experience of designing to IEC 60601
- Ability to maintain an overview of the development activities while maintaining an awareness of the details
- Qualities to show initiative, lead others and delegate and distribute work
- Comprehensive product development and/or engineering experience in a medical field bringing class III device to regulatory approval stage
