About the Role:
The bioanalytical scientist will be responsible for conducting bioanalysis in support of discovery programs at Neurocrine Biosciences Inc (NBI) and will provide scientific/technical expertise to guide outsourcing assays at CROs. The scientist will possess deep scientific knowledge and technical experience in method development, optimization, troubleshooting LC-MS based bioanalytical assays. Depending on experience, this individual may determine pharmacokinetic parameters based on the bioanalytical results.
YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS (include, but are not limited to):

- Method development and optimization of internal LC-MS/MS bioanalytical assays for drugs and metabolites from biological matrices (e.g. plasma, serum, urine and tissues)
- Conduct bioanalytical measurements
- Provide scientific advice for outsourcing assays
- Maintenance, trouble-shooting, and optimization of instruments
- If qualified, determine non-compartmental pharmacokinetic parameters
- Document and summarize laboratory procedure and experimental results
- Occasionally contribute to report finalization through preparation of figures and tables and providing QC reviews
- Present data at inter and intra-departmental team meetings
REQUIREMENTS:

- BS/ MS in chemistry or closely related field; minimum 5 years relevant industrial experience in a biotech, pharma, and/or CRO setting (or entry level PhD)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience and technical knowledge in bioanalytical assays of small molecule therapeutics using mass spectrometry-based detection, such as
- LC-MS/MS and LC-HRMS, and the ability to assist CROs in trouble-shooting assays.
- Experience working in and accomplishing tasks a timeline driven setting.
- Experience in lab automation is preferred
- Experience in large molecules and biomarkers bioanalysis is beneficial
- Understanding of regulatory and industry guidance, white papers and common practices pertaining to bioanalytical method validation and sample analysis is preferred
- Good communication and presentation skills to effectively work with cross-functional groups with diverse background and interests
- Strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to provide ideas for process improvements.Ability to work with a team of individuals to meet goals.
