The Associate Director is responsible for overseeing operations and resources within a department or program to ensure optimal result and high employee engagement. The Associate Director ensures that the department is run according to institutional policies and any applicable regulatory requirements.

The Associate Director will provide scientific administrative support to the Scientific Director (Dr. Goate) of the Ronald M. Loeb Center.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• • Preparation of grant progress reports, grant writing, assistance in grant preparation particularly for complex multi-component center grants, preparation of IRB and IACUC documents
  • Preparation of data request submissions and annual progress reports to BioMe and public repositories (e.g. dbGaP, NIAGADs, NCRAD)
  • Work with MSIP on MTA agreements, preparation of materials for Loeb Center website, development of social media presence and support for junior faculty in initial grant submissions
  • May provide leadership for more junior staff members in the form of ongoing training

Requirements:

• • Education: PhD in neuroscience or genetics or a Masters plus 5 yrs of experience in science or health care administration; experience in strategic planning and execution, formulating policy, building and developing financial plans, managing resources and leading successful teams
  • Experience: 5-7 years of prior healthcare industry experience required, preferably in the areas of project management, change management, health care delivery re-design or integration, and health policy reform
  • Knowledge of standard project management approaches
  • Experience implementing large-scale initiatives or leading large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Highly professional individual with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
