26 Aug BIOINFORMATICS SCIENTIST
Summary:
After establishing our core team and making strides in the areas of Natural Language Processing and knowledge graph-supported experimental design over the last 1.5 years, we are looking to expand our bioinformatics capabilities in the area of large scale experimental data evaluation and analysis. We are excited to on-board an experienced computational biologist with a track record in systems biology, algorithms as well as statistical modeling, and a solid understanding of neurobiology. We offer a great opportunity to grow and shape our biomedical informatics department as we expand our operations.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:

- Analyzing, transforming, and integrating large amounts of structured data (e.g. -omics and patient- derived data)
- Establishing automated workflows
- Train Recurrent Neural Nets to extract biological information from text in collaboration with ML team
- Build tools to automate parts of the existing workflow
- Work with ML team on Knowledge Graph development
- Work with external partners on data transfer and management
- Evaluate outcomes and discuss results with science team
- Document and report on progress regularly
Qualifications:

- MS or higher in bioinformatics or related field
- 3+ years experience in software development, databases and statistics in drug discovery or biomedicine
- Experience in statistical analysis of large omics datasets to support drug discovery
- Proven track record of generating insights from gene expression, NGS, or protein-protein interaction datasets
- Programming skills: Python, Javascript is a plus
- Statistics skills: R, Cytoscape
- Advantage: Git, SQL
Desired Qualifications:

- Experience with real world patient and clinical data: EMR, pre-clinical, clinical trial data
- Experience in Drug repurposing and translational Bioinformatics
- Familiarity with Deep learning, NLP, Relational machine learning for knowledge graphs
