Reports to: VP of Business Development
Ripple is looking for an energetic, outgoing, and technically knowledgeable individual to fill the role of Applications Scientist.
Ripple is a leading company in the field of electrophysiology, neuroprosthetics, neuromodulation and brain-machine interfaces, providing solutions for both researchers and the clinical community. Ripple is a vertical company, starting with engineering and designing our systems and devices, to building, assembling and servicing all done in-house.
As Applications Scientist, you will be the face of Ripple, working individually with an array of researchers and labs working on a wide variety of applications related to neuroscience and medical treatment of neurological injury and disorder.
Essential Functions

- Visiting labs and with researchers to understand their projects aims and requirements and working with them to custom-tailor systems to their needs.
- Working with our lead research sales engineer to find potential customers that would benefit from our tools and technologies.
- Collaborating with Research & Development to plan new products and devices for growing fields of research.
- Working with our Director of Marketing in designing strategies to best get the attention of researchers and clinicians who would benefit most from our products.
- Maintaining individual relationships with the researchers and clinicians using our products, working with them as their research evolves and grows.
Qualifications – Required

- Master’s Degree (PhD preferred) in neuroscience, psychology or related fields with experience in neuroscience, cognitive psychology, or clinical research. Experience in electrophysiology and/or bioinstrumentation is a plus.
- Candidates with lower or unrelated degrees but with significant related professional experience will be considered.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including technical writing skills
- Able to travel 50% or more of the time
- Highly motivated and self-sufficient
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee must be able to use a computer, and regularly focus on components of a multi-part project for extended periods. There is no lifting requirement.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a regular Full Time Position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Some personal flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee normally should be available during normal core work hours.
Travel
This position requires frequent travel, more than 50% of the time.
