ABOUT THE COMPANY

Ullo is a startup born out of research on human-computer interaction carried out at Inria Bordeaux. We develop extended reality devices (tangible interfaces, augmented reality, virtual reality,…) to represent physiological data (biological rhythms, brain activity,…). and interact with them.

Our products and services are particularly aimed at the health market, with a focus on cognitive disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, sensory and/or emotional disorders. We are also expanding to the education, human resources and sports markets with the launch of our next product range.

Our mission is to create new modalities of interaction and communication, based on the exchange of physiological information, in a playful, sensory and interactive way.

We are now setting up the first devices to act collectively on our physiological, cognitive and emotional rhythms. We wish to open new perspectives for care, for the development of social skills in education and of positive social interactions in a company, as well as for individual and collective sporting performance.

To achieve this goal we are looking for a general software engineer to liaise between the R&D team and the industrialization hub.

From the very first quarter, you will be in charge of prototyping interfaces for our new range of products, which will be presented at two international trade fairs: the Web Summit in November 2019 (Lisbon, Portugal) and the CES in January 2020 (Las Vegas, USA).

YOUR JOB

With the CTO, you will :

• • Develop day-to-day improvements to current products,
  • Contribute to the prototyping of products and services under development,
  • Participate in the development of new major functionalities to extend the platform’s offer to new markets (education, sports,…),
  • Guarantee the good technical quality of the code,
  • Be in charge of helping the less experienced colleagues to develop their skills by teaching them the right habits and best practices.

Your daily tasks will be to:

• • Design the overall development environment, including continuous integration and deployment;
  • Design and develop automation tools;
  • Brainstorm with the R&D team about new major functionalities;
  • Define roadmaps toward product delivery;
  • Provide technical support for the rest of the developer team.

In the major developments of the platform with the creation of new features, you will actively participate in the workshops and will be directly involved to define and prioritize the different steps of the roadmap.

REQUIRED PROFILE

• • You are a code ninja, triple pointers do not scare you, and you are sensitive to the beauty of an algorithm or a code.
  • You have strong C / C++ / C# and Python skills. (A good knowledge of Unity is appreciated.)
  • You master the tools and best practices of team programming(kanban, issue tracker, git, code review,…) and preferably you work under Linux.
  • You are autonomous in your organization and know when to ask your colleagues for help
  • You enjoy working in a team and will be able to supervise and lead your own team as the company grows.
  • You like challenges, know how to take risks and evaluate their impact in order to progress.
