Job Description
The Biomechatronics research group seeks to advance technologies that promise to accelerate the merging of body and machine, including device architectures that resemble the body’s own musculoskeletal design, actuator technologies that behave like muscle, and control methodologies that exploit principles of biological movement.
Responsibilities
The postdoctoral associate will:

- Conduct research to design and develop novel peripheral nerve interfaces with applications for near-term clinical impact;
- Communicate results to the scientific community through publications in peer-reviewed academic publications and scholarly dissemination as directed by the P.I.;
- Develop proposals for research funding;
- Engage in wider research and scholarly activities with the research group.
Initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension based on funding and the direction of the research.
Qualifications
Required:
-
- PhD in relevant field;
- Experience in optogenetic technologies and methods and/or in skin and muscle tissue engineering technologies and methods;
- Experience with neural interface technologies;
- Ability to contribute in a multidisciplinary group of students and researchers;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
