13 Sep Vice President of Engineering
Inscopix, a discovery phase neurotechnology company, is seeking an inspirational, and execution-driven, Vice President of Engineering to lead us into the next phase of our development. Our brain imaging product platform has recently migrated to a new network-based data acquisition system that is ready for integrating with cloud-based data storage and analysis. The new product platform builds on years of Engineering and customer feedback, and our new nVista and nVoke brain mapping systems are now poised to enable scaling into the broader research markets and into high-throughput, big data applications for Pharma/Biotech and other enterprise customers. Much work remains to be done to unlock the full product feature set through successive releases of software. An ambitious R&D Roadmap also exists, with the primary goal of integrating multiple modalities into the platform, and to enable a cloud-computing future.
The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across all Engineering functions, organize and structure Product Development using a phase-gate approach, supervise R&D, and build and manage a highly innovative, disciplined and goal-oriented Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
-
- Lead and manage all Engineering activities, including mechanical, optical, electrical, and embedded systems engineering functions. Oversee the activities of a full stack software and algorithm development team that is developing software for the instrumentation platforms and for a cloud-based data management and analysis service.
- Drive continued instrumentation product development, capturing early feedback from the launch of the new nVista and nVoke products and working with teams across the Company to define and implement key new product features addressing market feedback.
- Partner with Manufacturing Operations to manage all product/sustaining engineering activities.
- Together with Product Managers and the Engineering Team, develop instrumentation and software Product Roadmaps.
- Together with the Science team, and Scientific Advisors, develop and manage long-term R&D Roadmaps.
- Build and manage a cross-functional Engineering team.
- Improve existing processes for New Product Introductions and for scale.
- Serve as a key member of the Management team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
- Present roadmaps to the Board and report on milestones and accomplishments.
Ideal Candidates Must Have:
-
- 15+ years of industry experience in life science, imaging instrumentation or big data/video processing, with at least 5 years in senior engineering management roles leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
- Proven ability to build hardware products and integrate hardware with software.
- Experience with NVIDIA GPU-based embedded systems.
- Expertise with imaging, including image sensors and electronics for video acquisition.
- Proven track record building, leading, and managing Engineering teams.
