Accepting Doctoral Students
Dr. Patricia R. DeLucia is accepting students who wish to pursue a Ph.D. in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University. Doctoral students are supported by competitive stipends. This year the stipend is $27,000 plus a tuition waiver. Applicants must meet all requirements of Rice University.
Her research interests include the perception of collision, motion, depth, and multisensory integration in normal and impaired vision, and human factors applications in transportation (e.g., manual and automated driving), health care (e.g., minimally-invasive surgery, patient safety, nursing), and military (e.g., UAVs, night vision goggles). Her laboratory is being expanded and currently includes a driving simulator, virtual reality system, and tactile interfaces. For more information, see http://patricia-delucia.scholar.rice.edu/
Dr. DeLucia is looking for highly motivated students with a passion for research and learning. Students with backgrounds in psychology, computer science, mathematics
and engineering are encouraged to apply. Programming skills in Unity, C#, Matlab, and experience with virtual reality are a plus.
The Department of Psychological Sciences is a unique blend of basic and applied psychology. The primary emphasis in the department is on research.
