Assistant Professor – Computational/Theoretical Bioengineering

The Department of Bioengineering at Rice University, located in Houston, TX, seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of computational/theoretical bioengineering with a start date of July 2020. The department invites Assistant Professor candidates with expertise in computational modeling and/or theoretical modelling of biological systems. Particular areas of interest are biomolecular/protein engineering, cellular engineering, biomechanics, systems biology, neural engineering, and computational medicine. Candidates seeking to combine computational and experimental approaches are also encouraged to apply. Outstanding candidates at higher rank will be considered.

Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. Candidates will be expected to establish a strong research program supported by extramural funding.

Requirements

    • All candidates must have a PhD degree in bioengineering or a related field, conferred by July 1, 2020.
