iota Biosciences, Inc. is a medical device start-up looking for a highly-motivated engineer with skills in hardware synthesis and systems. As an Electrical Systems Engineer at iota Biosciences you will be part of a rapidly growing team developing a novel bioelectronic implantable system.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop FPGA- and microcontroller-based systems, with a focus on hardware synthesis for implantable components
- Prototype, test, and evaluate hardware systems while working with cross-functional teams
- Contribute to system specifications
- Support manufacturing and process development teams to bring successful designs to production.
Minimum Qualifications
-
- BS, MS. Or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, or other related field
- 2+ years of experience of experience in electrical hardware development
- Experience working with FPGAs (VHDL, Verilog)
- Experience with PCB design
- Experience with microcontrollers, embedded development, and programming languages (C++)
- Ability to work at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software
- Experience working independently with minimal guidance and experience handling multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience analyzing root cause, design debugging, and problem solving with engineering test equipment
- Experience in working with or designing of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).
- Experience in scripting languages, such as Python and MATLAB, for instrument automation and data analysis
- Experience or strong interest in medical devices or life sciences
