
15 Jan Project Team Lead
Blackfynn is looking for a Project Team Leader (PTL) to manage projects, and other portfolio related activities, across Blackfynn functional areas. In this role, you’ll partner with key stakeholders internally and externally to provide stratetic and operational leadership of program development activities. The PTL will begin with a project focused on Parkinson’s Disease, based on our multi-year strategic partnership with the Michael J Fox Foundation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

- Leading cross-functional Project Teams with individuals who work on data analysis and the development of software platforms, on specific software tools to support our internal research and our partners’ basic, translational and clinical research efforts, and on the development of novel therapeutics for Parkinson’s Disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.
- Identifying and leading dynamic operational teams from engineering, data science, product design, clinical operations and G&A, as required, to achieve the deliverables required for the success of each Project.
- Providing direction and leadership to the Project Team including scientific and operational oversight of activities, budget and planning.
- Partnering with stakeholders to develop the project vision, strategy, product evaluation, product scope, project milestones, risk assessment and management strategies, as well as project investment requirements.
- Utilizing a deep understanding of translational medicine, data-driven clinical trials and global drug development the PTL will effectively lead Project Teams and drive strategic decisions for Blackfynn. The PTL role will report into the CEO
- In the case of the MJFF partnership, driving the strategy, development and global delivery of (i) the first and best-in-class software platforms and analytic tools for electronic data capture (EDC) from clinical sites, (ii) patient reported outcomes (PROs) directly from patients, (iii) methods for validating novel, functional outcomes and digital measures as trial endpoints, and (iv) approaches to obtaining data from, and engaging, patients directly, at a massive scale.
- Leading Project-related interactions internally across all functions, executive leadership, the Blackfynn Board of Directors, external advisors, MJFF leadership, PPMI leadership and other key external stakeholders.
WHO YOU ARE
You’re someone who strongly believes that we will only develop effective therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases when we take a data-driven approach to drive a deep understanding of patients. You understand that capturing and integrating clinical data of all types (genetic, biosample, imaging, clinical, sensor and patient-derived functional data) is a crucial and requisite first step to fundamentally changing the way drugs are discovered, tested and used to treat patients.
Additionally, to be successful in this role we expect that you’ll have:

- An advanced degree in life sciences or medicine (MD, PhD, or comparable doctoral level degree).
At least 7+ years of industry experience in drug development, including experience in early phase non-clinical and clinical drug development and regulatory knowledge. - Experience leading teams in a matrix environment and demonstrated skills in motivation of teams.
- A strong ability to cultivate excellent cross-functional collaborations.
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with a proven ability to work with executive management are critical to the success of the role.
- An advanced degree in life sciences or medicine (MD, PhD, or comparable doctoral level degree).
