Systems Engineer/Test Manager

About the role:

We are looking for a systems engineer/test manager to drive system design decisions and testing of the Prosthetic Interface Device and related systems through the adoption of system engineering processes.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Cross-functional systems design activities
  • Responsibility for system requirements documentation
  • Management of risk sessions, ensuring risk controls are traceable to requirements
  • Responsibility for documenting system and safety architecture
  • Responsibility for ensuring relevant design standards compliance
  • Systems integration management
  • System-level troubleshooting
  • Management of verification and validation activities
  • Drafting and reviewing of verification and validation test protocols
  • Management of relationships with external test houses
  • Preparation of test reports
  • Monitoring defects and reviewing trends

 

Requirements

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Degree Level in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive experience of systems engineering processes within medical, nuclear or aerospace industry.
  • Comprehensive experience in QA and verification and validation of complex systems
  • Experience in developing testing strategies and drafting test protocols against requirements
  • Hands-on software verification and validation testing experience
  • Experience in documenting test results and preparing test reports
  • Ability to work autonomously with the drive to have a direct impact on the growth of a disruptive business
  • Good written English and adept with Microsoft Office suite tools
  • Ability to communicate clearly in cross-functional teams and complete tasks under tight deadlines

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in software engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related fields
  • Ability to maintain an overview of the development activities while maintaining an awareness of the details
  • Experience with medical device verification and validation
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing a team of test engineers
  • Experience with IEC 60601 electrical safety testing
