About the Team:
Pear’s Data Science team empowers key product and business stakeholders with data, predictions and insights that guide the company’s essential decision-making. Pear’s FDA-cleared therapeutics are digital applications, and therefore we have access to an unprecedented amount of rich usage data that affords many unique opportunities to drive clinical outcomes in populations with high unmet medical need.
We are looking for a Data Scientist with experience in data engineering to provide a strong data foundation to build upon for reporting, analysis, and modeling. We are looking for somebody with expertise in SQL/Python who will sit at the intersection of data science and engineering, and work collaboratively to achieve highly impactful outcomes.
The ideal candidate is passionate about making a mark in the uncharted waters of prescription digital therapeutic data. Data transforms how our company operates, and data integrity is paramount to the transformation.
You Will:
- Architect, build, and launch robust, efficient & reliable data schemas and pipelines to enable analysis and modeling
- Own data quality for the pipelines you build
- Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to understand data needs
- Define, develop and optimize schemas for new product analytics
- Build tools for auditing and validating data tables
- Build tools to support data science reliability and efficiency
- Build tools to support data access by nontechnical stakeholders
- Execute quantitative analysis and translate findings into actionable insights
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to data integration and data discrepancies; build alerts when necessary
- Have an active voice in novel data implementation initiatives across our product lines and company
Required qualifications:
- Passion for high data quality and scaling data science work
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Expert SQL skills
- Expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R)
- Experience in schema design
- Experience with an ETL framework
- Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
- Detail oriented
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with experimentation and machine learning techniques
- Ability to perform statistical analysis to inform business decisions
- An eye for design when it comes to dashboards and tools
