A postdoctoral position is available in the Human and Computer Vision Laboratory of James Elder at York University, Toronto, Canada. The candidate should have a research background in computer vision or image processing.
 
 
The position will involve collaborative research on both fundamental and applied projects, with emphasis on applications to dynamic urban scene understanding. Specific topics of current interest include:
  • Contour processing
  • Perceptual organization / Segmentation
  • Shape representation
  • Natural scene statistics
  • Attentive vision systems
  • Mobile robot vision systems
  • Camera calibration / rectification
  • Single-view 3D reconstruction
  • Sports videography
  • Crowd analytics
  • Person re-identification
  • Traffic analytics
 
 
The salary for this position is competitive and the starting date is flexible. The position is for one year, with the expectation of renewal. The application deadline has been extended to Feb 29, 2020. International applications are encouraged.
