Senior Electrical Engineer – USA
Participates in architectural decisions and helps define block-level requirements for ASIC. Responsible for circuit design, simulation, verification and bench testing of IC components at the chip level, circuits at the board level, and integrated systems at the device level. Develops and reviews circuit/system specifications, test protocols and test setups. Cooperates with other team members and directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, installation, and operational testing conforms to functional specifications and customer requirements. Uses electrical engineering tools and equipment, including CAD software, to perform engineering tasks.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be part of the R&D team whose mission is to create ground-breaking implantable medical devices to provide artificial vision to the blind.
- Participate in architectural decisions and help define block-level requirements of application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) to be used for implanted medical devices.
- Responsible for circuit design, simulation, verification, and bench testing of IC components at the chip level, circuits at the board level, and integrated systems at the device level.
- Develop and review circuit/system specifications, test protocols and test setups.
- Cooperate with other members and direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Use electrical engineering tools and equipment, including CAD software, to perform engineering tasks.
- Must be recognized as an expert with the division. May lead projects of significant scope.
- May provide work direction for others or perform mentor role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works cooperatively in a team setting to create new implantable medical devices to provide artificial vision to the blind.
- Designs and tests portable embedded systems which include image acquisition circuitry, digital signal processing and communications systems for use in implantable medical devices.
- Designs RF systems and circuitry to transfer power and data to implantable medical devices.
- Develops documentation to transfer design to production.
- Develops test plans and test systems to support verification, validation, and production testing.
- Uses computer assisted engineering, design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. This includes SPICE, VHDL or Verilog, schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout.
- Works closely with implant, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to find and solve problems.
