Senior Product Manager, Platform
Larkspur, CA
The Job
We are looking for an experienced product leader to take the development of our digital medicine platform to the next level. You will drive not only the vision and strategy of our technology platform, but you will also lead the development teams through the execution of that vision. No part of the technology stack is off limits, you will impact and own the roadmap for our data layer, reporting and analytics, web services, infrastructure, and 3rd party system integration into our core platform. You will work alongside seasoned technology architects, system engineers, data scientists, and designers within our agile development process to bring these valuable solutions to life. You will be a key contributor on our growing team of product managers to optimize and enhance our technology to support our products as we go to market. You will recommend investment, turn concepts into requirements and deliver value to users and the business. You will be responsible for managing the evolution of our platform that serves as the foundation on which Akili’s products are built. This is a newly created position that will report into the Sr. Director, Product Management.
Here’s What It Entails
- Develop and own a product vision, strategy and roadmap for the Akili platform
- Embrace user discovery with internal product teams and external partners
- Become a domain expert, deeply understanding Akili’s systems and the digital therapeutics/healthcare landscape to solve real problems with technology
- Partner with business operations to ensure strong collaboration, security, and scalability
- Get your hands dirty with data, developing meaningful business objectives and metrics to measure your team’s progress
- Inspire and lead cross functional teams of Designers, Data Scientists, Engineers and domain experts to implement, rollout and measure meaningful feature sets
- Create use-cases, user stories, and detailed product and software requirements that clearly articulate the functionality of the product that will be developed
- Partner with marketing, sales, patient support/services to successfully roll out an outstanding end-to-end user experience
- Support business development investment with key partners that will leverage the Akili platform
- Incorporate continuous learnings and conduct data analysis on product usage to identify areas of optimization and make product feature recommendations for input into the roadmap
- Align with Quality Control and Data Security/Privacy teams to ensure regulatory compliance of our data and platform
Here’s What You Need
- Proven experience delivering big data platforms for leading technology companies
- Generalist and self-starter able to work well independently as well as in various team settings
- Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn new skills, and ability to contribute ideas
- Excited by analytical problems and new challenges
- Eager to work in an agile environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a bias toward over-communication and inclusivity
- Strong leadership and management by influence leading to aligning stakeholders at all levels and geographic locations
- Excellent strategic thinking and prioritization skills – ability to make difficult tradeoff decision and yet create a roadmap to achieve business goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent real-world technical experience)
- 8+ years of Product Management experience with a focus on big data platforms powering SaaS/ analytics products (bonus points for enterprise security experience)
- Experience with multi-partner data platform management from negotiating third-party legal agreements to delivering value to internal and external clients of the data platform
- Experience working with data partners and developing an eco-system of best-in-class providers to support multiple product lines
- Working knowledge of data pipelines, APIs and data modeling and familiarity with technology best practices, IDEs, general programming languages and concepts, including web application architectures and components, and platforms-as-a-service concept
- Experience with Agile Scrum, project tasking tools (i.e. JIRA, Asana)
- Experience working with remote teams or team members a plus
