About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Laravel developer to join our growing tech team. You will be primarily responsible for handling our back-end development. If you have excellent coding skills and a passion for developing cleanly written Laravel applications or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you. As a Laravel developer, you’ll work closely with our CTO to ensure agile projects are completed on time with high quality. Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain stable and secure Laravel applications to meet our users needs.

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Actively contribute to the continual improvement of process and product
• Write clean, easily maintainable, modular code
• Participate in the planning, creation and execution of automated test cases and load/performance testing (Unit testing)
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Perform unit tests to optimize performance
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic
• Gather and address technical and design requirements
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features
• Integrate and maintain various API connections
• Work with the business and development team to ensure that your solutions meet our quality & operational standards and that of the clients
• Work as an Agile scrum team member
• Represent the backend in the entire product lifecycle
• Design database architecture to meet company needs

What We Need From You:

• In-depth understanding of the PHP programming language and its concepts
• Thorough understanding of MVC frameworks, major points if it is Laravel
• Familiarity with building, integrating and documenting RESTful APIs
• Developing and maintaining containers in a production environment
• Experience in a continuous delivery model, particularly using CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge and experience with SQL technologies. Brownie points if it is with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience using local web servers such as Apache and MySQL, and/or Docker
• Developing and maintaining secure API’s and trustworthy systems
• Experience administering AWS – Plus, but not a must
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing
• Get shit done attitude
• Critical thinker with great problem-solving skills
• Ability to own your tasks, and work independently
• Willingness to take initiative and be a great team player
• You can juggle multiple projects at a time… bonus points if you can actually juggle
• Excellent communication skills
• Our front-end is React, so if you have some knowledge or experience in it, that’s a plus, but not a requirement at all
