
19 May PostDoc/Senior Researcher – Interactive Technologies
The Interactive Technologies research group at the University of Eastern Finland is looking for a creative and motivated post-doctoral/senior researcher to work in a well funded project Microsurgical Interactive Technologies. The position is two-years, full-time, with benefits, and is available from August 2020.
The project involves interdisciplinary research of human factors in microsurgical settings, focusing on behavioral and physiological signal processing, such as eye-hand coordination, bimanual skill, workload, and vigilance. The project has an emphasis on applications to intraoperative care and microsurgical training. Topics may also include intraoperative collaborative work support, VR/AR applications, telemedicine, and computer vision for intraoperative care.
The Researcher will be a part of a larger international team of computing and health-care researchers, clinicians, and technical personnel, with access to real-life surgical environments and training facilities at the Kuopio University Hospital and its Microsurgical training center, VR/AR equipment and state-of-the-art eye- tracking technologies. Further opportunities exist to interact and collaborate with neuroscientists, pathologists, and other clinicians and health-technology researchers.
