IMPACT OF A TECHNICAL DIRECTOR AT TRU LUV:

At TRU LUV, we work together to bring life and depth to our companions, including #SelfCare and our secret projects. As Technical Director, you will join TRU LUV to establish and refine the technical direction as we scale our organization. With a solid foundation of system architecture, algorithms, and data analytics, you will guide and mentor teams exploring the possibilities of our companions. You will work closely with the leadership team to actively solve problems related to the day to day management of TRU LUV’s technical operations.

This role is an opportunity to become a subject matter expert in a new paradigm of emotionally conscious AI.

YOUR WORK DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE:

• Leading day-to-day technical direction and management
• Leading weekly sprints by planning and collaborating to maximize your team’s creativity and productivity
• Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company
• Working closely with the CEO to plan, implement, or iterate on our technical architecture and policies and development processes to meet our product, business, and team goals
• Ensuring that technological resources can scale with TRU LUV’s short- and long-term needs
• Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services
• Researching and exploring technology and trends that can elevate our user experiences and the lives of our development teams
• Working closely with the rest of the leadership team to establish ethical KPIs and manage the tracking and reporting of our progress
• Collaborating with external technical advisors
• Negotiating with other leads and directors to plan what is possible with existing or planned tech and to iterate with them on their plans and your team’s plans
• Establishing and communicating coding pipelines, processes and style guidelines
• Establishing and communicating documentation and other technical communication guidelines
• Managing and mentoring the development team and helping them develop their self-leadership and technical skills
• Managing recruiting and onboarding of new team members
• Creating and maintaining an inclusive and conscious team culture that fosters individual development and co-creative flow

WHAT YOU BRING TO TRU LUV:

• A love for user-centred, mindful AI, and its creation and integration into our lives
• At least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with systems architecture
• Proficiency in C++ and/or C#
• Experience with Unity, Visual Studio, Git, Xcode, iOS, Android
• A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
• Ability to work at a strategic and planning level while supporting day-to-day details and operations
• Exceptional organization and communication skills
• Experience leading in a fast-changing and growing environment
• Experience identifying and creating new technical processes and balancing workflow needs of multiple stakeholders

WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE TOGETHER:

• Experience with conscious leadership practices and deliberately developmental (DDO) practices
• A knowledge of self-care practices including those inspired by contemporary witchcraft
• A knowledge of tend-and-befriend and other psychological frameworks for companion design
• Ambition and track record to aim for a future CTO role
