IMPACT OF A GENERALIST PROGRAMMER AT TRU LUV:

At TRU LUV, we work together to bring life and depth to our companions, including #SelfCare and our secret projects. As a T-shaped Generalist Programmer, you will join TRU LUV with deep expertise in a couple of areas of development, while also bringing a broad range of experience in different tools and frameworks to support an array of technical tasks including the development of new features, interaction (UI/UX), systems, and testing frameworks. You would work alongside our programmers, designers, data scientists and project managers to deliver code that cares and supports our vision for companions.

This role is an opportunity to become a subject matter expert in a new paradigm of emotionally conscious AI.

YOUR WORK DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE:

Exploring the future of human-computer interaction, team collaboration, and self-leadership are all part of a day at TRU LUV.

• Collaborating with our art director, designers, and the rest of our team to establish and refine our shared vision
• Supporting the evolution of a variety of systems and tools, building new features, and taking us deeper into the possibilities of our AI
• Working to identify and fix issues in our #SelfCare companion and future creations by creating new tools and systems that enable iterative improvements
• Analyzing and reviewing design ideas from our team, exploring technical requirements and providing feedback on feasibility and limitations, while suggesting alternatives and opportunities
• Creating and uploading builds for iOS and Android
• Peer mentoring

WHAT YOU BRING TO TRU LUV:

• 5-7 years experience with app, game or framework programming in a team
• 1-2 years experience contributing to architecture or framework design
• Fluency in C#, C++, and/or Java
• Comfort refactoring legacy code and implementing improvements to its architecture
• A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent

• A knowledge of self-care practices including those inspired by contemporary witchcraft
• Tend-and-befriend and other psychological frameworks for companion design
