The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a Senior Applied Researcher to join our team developing the next generation of algorithms to measure and understand the health of the human body and brain. The ideal candidate should have industry experience, specializing in algorithms, data science, or signal processing. With an advanced degree in Applied Scaience/Biomedical Engineering/Cognitive

Neuroscience or Behavioral Neuroscience, the successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver and fast learner, with a passion for applying research and crafting impactful products.

 

The Role:

Based in our Vancouver head office, as a member of our Artificial Intelligence Research team, the Senior Applied Researcher for Huami will work with our global R&D team (Vancouver, Beijing and Tel Aviv) to push the limits of how signals can be measured and extracted from wearable devices and sensors.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Use machine learning techniques to perform research and analysis of brain imaging and physiological data
  • Design for deployment across multiple platforms: cloud, mobile, and wearable devices
  • Assist in designing and implementing experiments to collect data from company product and prototypes

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in Applied Science/Biomedical Engineering/Cognitive Neuroscience or Behavioral Neuroscience
  • At least 5 years of Industry experience or an exceptional academic track record
  • Solid understanding of the theory and practice of machine learning algorithms, with an emphasis on convolutional and generative neural networks
  • Experience building functional prototypes and/or products in Python
  • Experience with the analysis of and theory behind brain imaging techniques such as electroencephalography, functional magnetic resonance imaging and near infrared spectroscopy
  • An understanding of graph theory, complex systems analysis and/or cognitive science a nice bonus
  • Collaborative approach with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Efficient, creative and able to manage multiple projects concurrently
