Manufacturing Engineer I

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide engineering support to the Implant and External product manufacturing operations, improving efficiency, addressing problems in-house and at suppliers, and maintaining compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and continuously improve various manufacturing processes.
- Develop and improve production assembly and test procedures.
- Develop and improve production fixtures and tools.
- May train production technicians.
- Resolve engineering issues affecting in-house non-conforming assemblies.
- Resolve engineering issues affecting supply or quality of purchased and subcontracted components and assemblies.
- Conduct validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, test method validation, software validation) activities.
- Work with Quality and R&D organizations to introduce new products into manufacturing, including oversight of verification/validation builds.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- BS in industrial, mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering, or equivalent education
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 0 to 2 years experience in an engineering role.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing a plus.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Motivated, self-directed, organized, able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Strong communication skills and ability to function in team environment.
- Quality process oriented, good attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
