Summary of Position

The Senior Engineering Program Manager will both lead NovaSignal’s program management office while also performing hands on program management tasks. The successful candidate will work independently to plan, direct, coordinate and manage specifically identified products through our product lifecycle. This position is responsible for all goals and objectives of all programs including completion within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

 

Essential Functions

  • Leadership:
    • Lead a small team of project and program managers. Recruit, performance manage, and coach junior project leaders.
    • Own cross-functional, cross-project, company-wide integrated project planning. Manage and coordinate multiple programs, identifying interdependencies and critical paths, and identify and negotiate solutions to meet business deliverables.
  • Execution:
    • Execute multiple high-quality integrated cross-functional program plans including development of program charters, schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, issues and resources to meet program goals; incorporate technical, resource, operational and regulatory requirements into program plans
    • Negotiate cross functionally schedule, budget, and resources to deliver programs that meet business needs.
    • Manage the administration for program submissions and approvals through the agreed prioritization and approval process, maintaining a pipeline of approved programs
    • Effectively manage all areas of programs including initiating, planning, executing, verification and validation and design transfer.
  • Communication:
    • Provide regular reporting and visibility on program status; leads management reviews and program meetings; develop and manage agendas, minutes and follow up with action items.
    • Responsible for cross-functional communications; act as liaison between teams and executive management; lead phase and business reviews as well as all other key communications
    • Manage technical challenges of applications and new product development; identify, communicate and manage all levels of risk to senior management
  • Process and Efficiency:
    • Own and execute NovaSignal’s Product Development Process (PDP); lead teams to complete activities to current policies and practices; keep documentation organized.
    • Participate in implementing improvements to program management processes, tools and infrastructure to ensure ongoing efficiency across organization
    • Develop and maintain program management deliverables as defined by NovaSignal’s Quality Management System, ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading small teams.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Regulatory, Quality, and Marketing to deliver programs for commercial release.
  • Experience leading 510(k) and/or PMA programs through development
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Show understanding of work breakdown structures, critical path analysis and scenario-based program scheduling to include budget and resource estimations
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities including conflict/issue resolution, ability to run a program and ensure successful completion
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven strong negotiating and consensus building abilities.
  • Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.
  • Highly self‐motivated, self‐directed, and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‐pressure environment
