Atom Limbs Company Logo San Francisco CA, USA

Senior Embedded Systems Engineer, Co-Founder

tldr: if you live and breathe embedded, and get excited by the bionic limbs in Ghost in the Shell or Deus Ex… then read on because that’s what we’re making, and you should 100% apply. Atom Limbs is making limb loss a thing of the past. This is true high tech.

How much experience do you need?

Our arm is a $100,000 piece of equipment with 20+ joints, 15+ actuators, and hundreds of internal sensors. And requires FDA medical device clearance. You should have 10+ years experience playing in these worlds. Use your best judgment.

Who are you?

A senior embedded systems engineer hungry to bring a new product to life.

  • You’ve taken multiple products from concept to production in the past.
  • You have excellent EE fundamentals
  • You have experience designing, debugging and prototyping PCBs and circuits.
  • Your C and C++ is Rocky Balboa strong, especially in the face of tight space and time constraints.
  • You believe a solid test suite goes hand in hand with writing good code.
  • You have strong opinions about communication protocols.
  • The idea of using your skillset to help people in a profound way gets you excited.

What’s the day-to-day look like?

You’re primarily responsible for taking what our pre-clinical team learned, and turning it into a plan for a clinical prototype, then designing & building that clinical prototype. This will involve:

  • PCB and circuit design
  • Developing associated firmware (and test suite)
  • Working closely with designers regarding form-factor
  • Working closely with patients to deeply understand their feedback
  • Working closely with me (hi I’m Tyler, the CEO) every day towards that goal
