Our arm is a $100,000 piece of equipment with 20+ joints, 15+ actuators, and hundreds of internal sensors. And requires FDA medical device clearance. You should have 10+ years experience playing in these worlds. Use your best judgment.

Who are you?

An industrial designer w/ medical experience hungry to bring a new product to life.

• You’ve taken multiple products from concept to prototyping, ideally medical devices
• You communicate designs & ideas well to different audiences
• You play comfortably with both 3D computer models and physical models
• You have excellent human interface, idea sketching, benchmarking, iterating, and usability testing fundamentals, especially in the face of time space & time constraints
• SolidWorks… Adobe Creative Suite… whatever your prototyping tool, it is your weapon
• The idea of using your skillset to help people in a profound way gets you excited

What’s the day-to-day look like?

You’re primarily responsible for taking what our pre-clinical team learned, and turning it into a design for a clinical prototype. This will involve:

• User & human interface design
• Bring it all together into a compelling whole — concept, form language, technology, usability, color, finish, material process selection
• Working closely with engineers regarding form-factor
• Working closely with patients to deeply understand their feedback
• Working closely with me (hi I’m Tyler, the CEO) every day towards that goal
