Phd/PostDoc – Cognitive and Neural Model of the Sense of Reality

ERC funded PhD and Post Doc positions in cognitive neuroscience
“UnReal: A Phenomenological, Computational and Neural model of the Sense of Reality”

We are searching for highly motivated PhD and Post-Doc researchers in the area of cognitive neuroscience for available positions in our ERC funded project on the Sense of Reality.

Project Description:

This ERC funded research project focuses on understanding the Sense of Reality in human beings. The sense of reality which is the ability to
discriminate between true and false perceptions of the world, is a central criterion for neurological and psychiatric health. Despite the critical role of the sense of reality in our daily life, little is known about how this is formed in the mind and brain. The UnReal project explores the phenomenological, computational and neural processes underlying the Sense of Reality (SoR). The project combines Virtual Reality, neuroimaging (3 & 7 Tesla fMRI, EEG/ MEG), computational methods, pharmacological interventions and clinical cohorts to build a cognitive and neural model of the sense of reality.

We are looking for highly motivated PhD and Post-Doc researchers with a suitable background in computational neuroscience/ neuroimaging/ cognitive neuroscience.

The work will be carried out at the lab of Dr. Roy Salomon (www.salomonlab.org) at the Gonda Brain Research Center at Bar Ilan University, Israel.
