NINDS has a position vacancy for a Health Program Specialist to support extramural translational research activities in the neurosciences. The successful candidate will support the Small Business (SBIR/STTR) program and will help coordinate activities and programs supporting translational research across the NINDS mission space, particularly related to small business concerns commercializing therapeutics, diagnostics, clinical and basic neuroscience tools. The duties will include identifying appropriate projects for the program’s portfolio, planning, coordination, evaluation of research grants and activities, communication of relevant research programs to internal and external stakeholders and participation in NINDS and NIH-wide committee and activities. The incumbent will develop knowledge and skills regarding NINDS, NIH, and SBA policies, procedures, and tools and resources available for effective oversight of extramural grants. She/he will assist in development of scientific initiatives and analysis of their success, coordination of pre- and post- award financial planning of grants, and coordination and planning of workshops and meetings. This is a Federal GS-11, GS-12 or GS-13 position located in Montgomery County MD. Level is based upon individual qualifications and professional experience. Salary is commensurate with the candidate’s experience and a full package of Civil Series benefits is available, including recruitment, health and life insurance, leave, and savings (401K equivalent).
