Neuralink is developing ultra-high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and computers. We are building a team of multidisciplinary experts passionate about making a world-changing impact.

Neuralink is seeking a motivated individual for the role of Histology Technician, with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and under supervision to validate a variety of materials and methods. You will help develop high throughput processes for slice preparation, detection methods, and data curation. You will provide timely, constructive feedback to teams across multiple disciplines.

 

About you:

  • Performing daily large animal necropsy, tissue handling and grossing for pathology studies (40%);
  • Performing histological tissue processing, embedding and microtomy (20%);
  • Performing histological stains including immunohistochemistry, microscopic imaging, data analysis and writing reports (20%);
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents, performing quality control tests, keeping records and inventories (15%);
  • Participating in feedback and coordinating with other teams (5%);

 

Key qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology or a related field, with 2+ years of laboratory experience.
  • 1+ years of conducting histology and immunohistochemistry experiments in an industrial and/or clinical setting
  • Carry a working knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology.
  • Ability to carry out and document experiments consistently, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Capacity to work in a streamlined fashion of a dynamic environment.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with animal necropsy, tissue handling and grossing.
  • Experience with or knowledge of a variety of routine and specialized histology stains and microscopy .
  • Experience with image analysis using ImageJ or other quantification tools.
  • Experience working in a GLP setting.
