PostDoc – Brain Machine Interface in Patients with Tetraplegia Due to Spinal Cord Injury

Post Doctoral Position with Drs. Celnik and Cantarero at Johns Hopkins

A post-doctoral fellow position is available to work in the Human Brain Physiology and Stimulation Laboratory of Johns Hopkins University under Drs. Gabriela Cantarero and Pablo Celnik supervision. The laboratory is devoted to the study of motor control from a behavioral and neurophysiological perspective and use behavioral, motion analysis, brain machine interface, and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques.

The expertise of Drs. Celnik and Cantarero on studies of motor control in healthy individuals as well as across various patient populations, together with the collaborative work of other investigators in Johns Hopkins University, creates a unique opportunity to gain experience on the behavioral and physiological mechanisms underlying motor control and motor learning and on translational motor recovery research.

This position is focused on new work in the area of Brain Machine Interface in patients with tetraplegia due to spinal cord injury. More specifically this project will aim at improving motor control with prosthetic arms as well as other smart devices while also incorporating sensory feedback. The ideal recipient should have been awarded a PhD within the past 5 years, and will have publications relating to human or animal Brain Machine Interface motor control in peer reviewed journals.
