Tasks

We are looking for research associates to help our research teams in the following projects:

• Generation of stable cell lines, including transduction vector production, selection and expansion of clones.
• Detailed characterization of expression levels of proteins in model cells.
• Expansion and optimization of the repertoire of cell types at Koniku.
• Optimization of cell culture media formulations.
• Screening and deorphanization of olfactory receptor libraries.

Qualifications and skills

• B.S. or a demonstrable equivalent in biochemistry, molecular and/or cellular biology is desirable.
• 1+ years laboratory experience, industry experience preferred.
• You are a meticulous experimentalist with a demonstrated track-record of productivity.
• You are willing to learn new experimental procedures to assist the different teams.
• You can plan your own experiments autonomously, following the scientific method rigorously.
• You can quickly trouble-shoot technical difficulties, maintain excellent scientific records and clearly communicate your results to a non-scientific audience. We expect you to do some travel to our secondary sites and clients for extended periods as necessary (4 weeks total per year) – US, Europe, Asia and Africa.
• Integrity and a can do attitude.
