Laboratory Manager

 

Tasks

We want you to help us maintain a world-class biological laboratory. You can help us achieve the following:

  • Establish and enforce safe lab practice for all workers, provide complete training to new researchers.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with relevant local, state, and federal requirements and licenses.
  • Ensure the laboratory is well-stocked at all times, including ordering and stocking supplies, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and preparation of common reagents.
  • Ensure the laboratory equipment is in working order, arrange maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure strict protocol compliance across the lab.
  • Work closely and collaborate with RnD teams to validate and launch and consolidate new assays and instruments.
  • Offers experimental assistance to the researchers.

 

Qualifications and skills

You should :

  • have a B.S. in a relevant field, such as biology, biochemistry, or cell biology.
  • have 3+ years experience managing a biological laboratory, including all safety aspects, preferably in the private sector.
  • have good knowledge of various assays and instruments used in cell culture (preparing cell culture medium, passaging different cell lines, testing for contamination like mycoplasma, liquid N2 storage, etc…), microscopy (staining, settings for optimal quality images, maintenance of microscopes such as alignment of phase rings, Kohler setting, etc…), molecular biology (DNA purification and quantification, miniprep, PCR, quantitative PCR etc…) and other relevant fields.
  • be proficient in Microsoft Office or similar.
  • have strong organizational and planning skills.
  • have excellent verbal communication skills to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • be able to quickly trouble-shoot technical difficulties autonomously.
  • be able to work in team.
  • be meticulous.
  • be able to identify bottlenecks in current workflow and find solutions to optimize efficiency and productivity for the researchers.
  • be eligible to work in the U.S.
