31 Jan PostDoc – Neuronal Activity and Experience Contribution to the Differentiation of Neural Stem Cells
Postdoctoral Fellow
The lab of Dr. J. Tiago Gonçalves at Albert Einstein College of Medicine is currently looking to fill a position for a postdoctoral fellow.
The lab primarily tries to understand how neuronal activity and experience contribute to the differentiation of neural stem cells. Our focus is on the circuit integration and functional maturation of adult-born neurons in the dentate gyrus. We use a combination of in-vivo imaging, behavioral testing and electrophysiology/optogenetics to study the integration of newborn neurons into the mouse hippocampus.
We are ideally looking for candidates with a strong interest in the fields of neurogenesis, neuronal development or learning & memory. Previous experience with the experimental techniques used in our lab is preferable but we also welcome applications from computational neuroscientists who are interested in experimental work. For more information please visit www.goncalveslab.org or contact Dr. Gonçalves at openpositions@goncalveslab.org with a brief description of your current scientific interests and future career goals. Funding is available and salary will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications.
