Product Manager – Digital Health (Remote)
NEW YORK, NY · PRODUCT · FULL-TIME
Who We Are
At Statespace we’re using cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and video games to revolutionize the way that humans improve.
Our first product (Aim Lab) is a personalized, AI-powered analytics and training platform for competitive gamers and Esports athletes. Aim Lab has well over a million users and the best user community in the whole wide world (we may be biased).
Our team consists of scientists, designers, engineers, and game industry vets coming together from places like NYU, MTV, NASA, Yale, Nintendo, and the NFL. We are well-funded and supported by some of the world’s best investors and entrepreneurs, including Khosla Ventures, FirstMark Capital, Lux Capital, Expa Capital, and WndrCo.
Our Culture
Weird. Non-traditional background. Underdog. Outcast. If people have used any of these words or phrases to describe you…welcome home. Kick-ass engineer or designer without a degree? Come join our team.
We hire talented, self-motivated people and get out of their way. We are based in NYC but have a remote work culture and are looking for exceptional people to join our team regardless of their physical location.
We value performance, not hours worked (or when you work them). We believe you shouldn’t have to miss your kid’s play or doctor’s appointment for the sake of adhering to an arbitrary work schedule.
However, if you are looking for a job where you are happy to just collect a nice paycheck and/or nap under your desk like George Costanza, we are not the right fit for you (we don’t even have desks).
The work we do is hard, and therefore, a key company goal is to mitigate needless obstacles that prevent our team members from accomplishing their goals. To that end, our vacation policy is “take it whenever you want to”, our PTO policy is “take it whenever you need to”. We offer very generous medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
The Product Manager – Digital Health Role
We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to drive one of our key strategic pillars. Building on our expertise and success in developing products for esports assessment and training, we are launching a new initiative in digital health. We envision a suite of products using gaming for assessment and monitoring of brain function (perception, cognition, and control of movement), for diagnosis of brain dysfunction, and for brain training (i.e., therapeutics). It’s an opportunity to have a massive impact on the company and the health and wellness of many people.
Key Responsibilities
- You’ll develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our Digital Health team, working alongside cross-functional peers and stakeholders.
- You’ll drive enhancements, initiatives, and experiments from start to finish by writing specs, driving cross-functional execution, making smart product decisions, and sharing
- learnings and results throughout the company.
- You’ll become an expert in the emerging field of digital health, identifying user needs and opportunities by talking to users, collecting feedback from cross-functional teammates, analyzing data, and studying our competition.
- You’ll take a data-driven, outcomes-oriented approach, using metrics to monitor and improve key funnels.
Ideal Skills
- Depth of experience leading product initiatives for digital health products. You can turn high-level themes and rough ideas into defined projects and a roadmap of features, experiments, and research with minimal guidance.
- A track record of consistently delivering measurable results for users and impacting the companies you work for. You collaborate with others to make things happen, bringing organization to chaos and complexity.
- A data-driven mindset. You know your products, their funnels, and how to measure long-term impact. You can design, run, and interpret experiments and A/B tests. You probably know some SQL.
- Product taste and craftsmanship. You’ll be making important product decisions, and you bring the attention to detail this deserves. You have a strong eye for design.
- Impeccable follow-through. You make commitments and meet them. You don’t let details slip, and hold others to this standard.
- You know how to lead and organize a cross-functional team (R&D, software engineering, UX design) to set and meet deadlines.
- You listen. You build consensus by default, but can drive hard decisions when needed. You push things forward. People love working with you.
