Artinis is hiring a junior project leader / biomedical engineer who is enthusiastic and driven by biomedical device development. You will be joining the Research and Development team and will be a key member of the group for development and testing of research and biomedical devices and coordinate subprojects. The position will entail the planning, creation and execution of product and software testing and validation of test methods used for the characterization of products through concept, development and post launch phases. You will conduct hands on experiments and analyze the data using statistical techniques and present findings. In the software development you will be responsible for the coordination and validation of the usability of the software. Your feedback will be important for further improvement and development of our products. You will stay ahead of scientific and technological development in the field of NIRS devices and use that knowledge to identify new characterization techniques and tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independent working within multidisciplinary project teams to provide characterization strategies for product specifications
- Coordination of implementation and testing of technical requirements and usability of the products
- Develop test protocols, implement test procedures, carry out experiments, analyze test results (statistically if needed) and prepare technical completion reports
- Design test methods to measure the performance of the devices
- Collaborate effectively with various project team members such as project leaders, quality engineering, operations, regulatory affairs, marketing, etc
- Transfer documented test methods to production, quality control or external suppliers
- Identify and obtain new test equipment and perform performance validation of computer software and test methodologies
- Supporting research activities, new product development, regulatory submissions and post launch activities
QUALIFICATIONS
- MSc Degree in Biomedical Engineering, or similar
- Previous experience using testing equipment and software testing is a plus
- Ability to independently develop test strategies and provide technical guidance to the team to influence product design
- Strong investigational skills required for finding failures and performing root cause analysis
- Comfortable working/testing in a regulated medical device development environment
- Willing to work in an experimental environment performing hands-on experiments and be able to clearly communicate findings (oral and written) to the project team
- Have knowledge of design control/regulations for medical devices and/or combination products is a plus
- Coding skills (e.g. Matlab/Python) is a plus
- Strong collaboration, teaming and influencing skills
- Positive attitude, can-do mentality and flexibility
