Neuralink is seeking motivated professionals who thrive working in a fast-paced research environment. The IACUC and Safety Administrator will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the research and development of brain machine interfaces in animal models. Staff in this role will assist with all administrative functions of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).

  • Provides administrative support to the IACUC Program Manager, Chair, and members of the IACUC, including, scheduling and coordinating logistics for meetings
  • Assist with inspections and training
  • Timely preparation and distribution of agendas, minutes, decisions and related materials
  • Conducts intake review of protocol submissions and follows up to ensure completeness
  • Serves as liaison and represents the IACUC in responding to inquiries and providing information, guidance, interpretation or clarification within scope of authority
  • Manages and maintains official and electronic records and files; coordinates workflow and processes administrative paperwork; may perform other administrative functions and related duties as required
  • Develop and implement occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and training programs
  • Coordinate worksite inspections and review working conditions
  • Assists with documenting reports of occurrences and record statistical information
  • Oversee disposal of substances according to environmental guidelines
  • Ensure statutes, regulations, and codes are clearly understood and met
  • Implement preventative measures to ensure unsafe processes are not repeated

 

About you:

  • Excellent proactivity, planning, follow-through and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent timeliness, accuracy and attention to detail

 

Key qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent in business administration, public administration, engineering, construction, occupational safety and health, or related field
  • 2 years of previous experience in comprehensive workplace safety, IACUC and compliance programs
  • Solid knowledge of state and local statutes and ordinances on fire safety and prevention, loss control, hazardous chemicals, building, electrical, noise pollution and the environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organizational/institutional administrative support processes, including scheduling and logistics; proficiency in taking and transcribing notes and minutes and/or formal proceedings
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining computerized databases and tracking systems; proficient to advanced computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and guidelines, and to independently resolve problems of ordinary difficulty; sound judgment and discretion
