Neuralink is developing ultra-high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and computers. We are building a team of multidisciplinary experts passionate about making a world-changing impact.

The technical infrastructure team builds the foundation that enables the company to function effectively. A mixture of cloud-based and on-prem infrastructure, with both off-the-shelf and custom solutions, enable our facilities and systems to operate flawlessly. We have a user base spanning from highly technically proficient engineers to non-technical scientists and doctors; but all of them need solid systems, rugged networking, and bullet-proof software to do their jobs. This role will integrate tightly with teams across the company, and span all layers of the work environment stack, from the physical hardware the company runs on, to custom tooling built to facilitate neural recordings, and everything in-between.

Key qualifications:

• Seasoned network engineering in a global enterprise environment.
• 3+ years’ experience managing medium to large enterprise networking infrastructures.
• Experience operating as a tier-3/4 support resource.
• Experience understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures.
• Experience with multiple enterprise switching, routing, and firewall vendors, such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, etc. and a willingness and ability to learn other networking solution stacks.
• Strong understanding of both on-prem networking solutions and cloud provider networking technologies, such as VPCs, IPsec VPNs, and IAM security protocols.
• Strong understanding of core networking protocols, TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, and the OSI model of networking.
• Strong understanding of networking technologies, OSPF, BGP, VRF, STP, QoS, VLAN, VRRP, LACP, LAG, NAT, IPSEC, GRE.

Preferred qualifications:

• Working knowledge of major cryptographic protocols and authentication schemes such as TLS, x509, 802.1x, U2F, SAML.
• Experience using IaC tools and systems, such as Terraform, Docker, Packer, Ansible, Cloud-Init, Kickstart, Git (or another major SCM).
• Experience with tooling such as SNMP, IPAM, RADIUS, IPMI, AMT, PXE, etc.
• Systems administration experience on Linux, macOS, and / or Windows.
• Experience supporting production lines, medical systems, and/or laboratory settings.
