Summer 2021 Neuroscience Internship

Rune Labs is a clinical brain data company. Our software platform labels and aggregates brain imaging, electrophysiology, and neuromodulation device data to create some of the largest structured datasets in human neuroscience. We partner closely with the med-tech and pharma community to make these data useful for therapy development and delivery for brain diseases like Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and Treatment Resistant Depression.

We are looking for an intern to join the neuroscience team to help generate insights about disease pathophysiology that will guide treatment, uncover hidden disease phenotypes, and design better targeted therapies.

The Role:

As an intern, you will complete an independent research project under the mentorship of the neuroscience team. You will have the opportunity to work with large scale human physiology data to learn more about Parkinson’s disease. During this internship, you will:

• Analyze human data using a combination of signal processing, statistics, and machine learning
• Build a foundation in the pathophysiology of Parkinson’s disease
• Learn about future directions and challenges in neuromodulation
• Collaborate with academic and industry leaders in the field

This position is ideal for:

• Somebody with prior research experience in neuroscience or a related field, who would like to gain a stronger technical foundation in computational neuroscience
• Somebody with a strong technical background, who would like to build and apply technical tools in a research space

About you:

• Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn)
• Prior research experience in neuroscience or a related field
• Expertise in signal processing, statistics, and/or machine learning
• Experience with large datasets
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Passionate about human neuroscience and neuromodulation
