Mathematical Neuroscience Research Group, Human Informatics and Interaction Research Institute, AIST, is conducting research and development on the theory and application of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) for the purpose of elucidating human motor function and individual differences, as a part of a project commissioned by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan.

Qualifications
- Must be within 7 years of obtaining a PhD at the time of hiring.
- Employment history in the same category is less than 5 years.
- Have basic knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence and statistical science.
- Interested in ML/AI applications to human movement (e.g. video or motion capture) or brain/body activity (e.g. fMRI, EEG, EMG) data analysis.
Compensation
Salary: Hourly wage system 2,200-2,500 yen (determined by our regulations)
Working style: 5 days a week, 7 hours 45 minutes a day (1 hour break). Flex time system available.
Holidays: 2 days a week (Saturday and Sunday), national holidays, year-end and new year holidays.
Employment period: Starting date (negotiable) – March 31, 2022 (Renewable, until March 31, 2025)
Renewal: It may be renewed based on the person’s ability, work performance, work attitude, progress of the work you are engaged in, work volume at the time of contract expiration, budget situation, and other circumstances. However, it will not be renewed after March 31, 2025.
(In addition, the total employment period from the day of first hiring at the institute shall not exceed 5 years.)
Trial period: 1 month
