PostDoc – Coding of Visual Position in Designing

 

Postdoctoral opportunity at the Center for Vision Research, York University and Glendon College

 

A postdoc position is available to work on the coding of visual position with Patrick Cavanagh and Peter Kohler at York University in Toronto, Canada.

The postdoctoral scholar will collaborate in designing and running psychophysical, high-density EEG and functional MRI experiments on motion and position perception initially related to this recent finding https://www.pnas.org/content/118/25/e2102167118. Training in vision research is a plus, as is programming proficiency, using either MATLAB or Python. Any experience in EEG or fMRI is also a plus but not required. The successful candidate will conduct psychophysical studies at York University’s Glendon campus and fMRI and EEG studies at the Keele campus (the two are connected by a 30 minute free shuttle) and will be part of York University’s Centre for Vision Research (https://www.yorku.ca/cvr/), a large, diverse and active community of researchers working in vision and neuroscience. Toronto is a major metropolitan area (7th largest in North America), and combines the benefits of city living with high quality of life and easy access to the natural beauty of Ontario.

Salary is $50,000 CDN annually. The appointment is for one year, renewable for additional years.
