
26 Aug Hardware Intern – System Development
Role Overview:
To support the development of next-generation subsystem IP we are looking for Interns who have an engineering mind-set and passion for digital design and verification!
These roles are within the Systems group on the development of subsystem IP that is required to build complete system-on-chip designs. These components are used extensively in consumer devices such as mobile phones and tablets as well as in numerous other electronic products from sensors to servers.
You will work alongside with experienced engineers within one of the IP development teams in Arm, contributing to real project tasks and will be supported by experienced Engineers.
Examples of previous project tasks are:
- developing and trialing new processes for use by the design/verification teams
- developing testbenches and test cases to verify the design to high standard
- investigating alternative options for existing design or verification implementations
As a Design & Verification Intern you will gain exposure to leading-edge EDA tools, different aspects of developing highly-complex design/methodologies and be given training where vital, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities whilst contributing to current and future project developments in Arm.
Are you a good fit for Arm?
In order to be considered, you have ongoing at the least BSc or BEng degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant subject.
Crucial skills and experience that we look for in a successful Intern include:
- A keen interest in digital systems
- Understanding of computer architecture and micro-architecture concepts
- Excellent attention to detail
- Creativity and ability to communicate ideas effectively
- Good inter-personal and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with high-level simulation languages, VHDL or Verilog
- Exposure to verification techniques and testbenches
- Programming languages, such as ‘C’, C++
- Use of UNIX and shell programming
